
Government Instructs to Organize Entertainment Program on International Day of Person with Disability
Phnom Penh: The Royal Government of Cambodia has instructed the relevant ministries and institutions to organize various entertainment programs for people with disabilities on the occasion of the 25th Cambodian Day of Persons with Disabilities and the 41st International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
According to the Circular on December 3, 2023 Cambodia Government instruct all Ministries, Capital and Provincial Administrative Institutions, Relevant Partners shall Organize Meetings with People with Disabilities, Entertainment Programs for People with Disabilities in Ministries or in administrative Institutions.
The Royal Government also instructed the Ministry of Information to cooperate with the DAC to guide the public and private media to disseminate to the whole society to understand the history of the Day of Persons with Disabilities Cambodia and the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 3 December .
At the same time, all ministries, administrative institutions, capitals, provinces and public and private institutions to prepare slogans to celebrate the 25th Cambodian Day of Persons with Disabilities and the 41st International Day of Persons with Disabilities with the following topics: Kingdom of Cambodia, Celebrates the 25th Cambodia and the 41st International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Promote environmental protection for people with disabilities for equity, Access to social protection for people with disabilities is to improve living standards and dignity, Together eliminate the use of discriminatory words to PWD, Improving the employment environment for people with disabilities to develop the society and economy, Increase the comfort of the object and the placenta so that everyone can use it, Multi-sectoral disability is an obligation of all of us.
The circular states that Cambodia celebrates the Cambodian Day of Persons with Disabilities to commemorate the great destruction of the Pol Pot genocidal regime, which left many consequences, including the disabled, widows and orphans. The legacy of the war also left a lot of landmines and household waste scattered throughout the country, especially cluster munitions containing many of the chemicals found in Cambodia. In addition, Cambodians also face a number of other hazards that lead to disability, such as traffic accidents, occupational accidents, birth defects, old age, chronic diseases and other causes.
International Day of Persons with Disabilities is held to commemorate the struggle for social rights of the 1.3 billion people with disabilities in the world.
